Wild Horse's part 14

Jess pulled back and crossed her arms over her waist then pulled off her top. She moved her hands to her jeans but nick stopped her. He lowered her back down to the blanket then took off his shirt throwing it next to her top. Lying down next to her he began by kissing up to her breasts. Reaching the tips he took one nipple into his mouth and sucked and nibbled and teased her the way he knew she liked. Her moans of pleasure were proof she still liked it that way. His hands busied themselves with the button and zipper on her jeans, moving back nick pulled on her jeans sliding them over her silky smooth legs. Tossing them aside she lay before him in only pink panties. He undid his own jeans and removed the remainder of his own clothes. “Nick” she questioned the time he was taking but his reply was not vocal. Instead he picked up her foot and started kissing his way up her leg and past her knee. She writhed in ecstasy when his lips reached the flimsy fabric of her now wet panties. His fingers pushed the material aside to release her to him giving his tongue space to savour her. Digging her fingers into his hair jess lost herself in the moment. Nick stripped the panties from her then kissed his way up the rest of her body to her neck. Sliding his hands into her hair on either side of her face he rested above her on his elbows. Jess could feel him over her and his breath on her face, thinking he was close she reached her head up to kiss him but got only air. Nick moved his right hand and glided it down her cheek, neck and across her breast then down her hip and between their bodies; she let her hands explore his strong shoulders. Shifting his weight she felt him move between her legs. Intending to take his time nick moved slowly then lowered his head to kiss her again. Her body felt as if she was on fire and delicious tingles shot through her with his every thrust. Feeling her way she slid her hands across his back and chest as their lips met in a passionate kiss. When jess wrapped her legs around his waist pulling him deeper into her he lost his control and let his natural instinct take over. The earth rumbled beneath them as the wild mustangs ran past across the other side of the creek. Jess cried out as she climaxed with his name on her lips “Nick”, which sent nick tumbling over the abyss into ecstasy.

Lying together wrapped in each other’s arms they listened to the sounds of the creek and the birds nearby. “That was defiantly and interesting experience” jess said as she shifted her weight against him. “Yeah it was amazing” he replied in agreement and kissed her on the brow. “I mean not being able to see. It made it very intense and more sensual than I remembered” she explained. Nick kissed her again “maybe I’ll have to try it with my eyes closed next time” he joked. Letting out a sigh jess sat up. “Can you pass me my clothes please” she asked. Nick sat up next to her and reached for their clothes “What’s the hurry” he wanted to know as he didn’t want to leave. “Jack” the one word brought back their reality. Nick handed her the clothes but didn’t let go. “Ok but we spend the rest of the day together as a family” he told her then he let her get dressed.

Jess woke up to the sound of nick singing a lullaby, his voice still made her go weak at the knees even though she was laying down. Nick was pacing the floor at the end of her bed rocking jack in his arms. He wore only his jeans and his hair was ruffled in that was she loved. “Now that’s a sight worth waiting for jess spoke softly as she sat up and held the sheet to her chest. “You can see?” he asked a little too loud and jack stirred in his arms. “It’s a little fuzzy but yes I see you” she replied with a smile on her face. Nick walked around the side of the bed and carefully sat down trying not to wake jack up. Holding his son in one arm he wrapped the other around jess and pulled her close to him and looked her in the eyes then kissed her so lovingly he felt like he never wanted to let her go ever again. Pulling back nick looked at their son then back at jess. “Marry me jess” he asked her and waited for her reply. She blinked and stared into his beautiful brown eyes, flashed him that cheeky smile he loved and told him “yes”.

“Come on get up” nick’s voice woke jess from a restless sleep. “Nick what are doing here” she demanded to know. “Here put these on” he handed her some clothes a pair of jeans and a vest top. “Our mums have taken jack for the day so move your ass” he told her then he left to let her get dressed. Walking out of her room she tried to find nick but she didn’t have to search for him. He put his arm around her back and then he scooped her up and carried her out of the house. “Nick what you are doing. Put me down” she protested. “Nope your mine today darling” he said as he carried her away from the house. “Jack will need feeding” she told him trying to struggle to get free but he was stronger. “We have got that covered with the milk you expressed yesterday and put in the fridge” he told her than added “next excuse”. Nick set her down in the stable next to her horse. “Ok up you go” he helped her up and onto the back of jovi then he mounted up on to his own horse. “Just hold on and I will guide you” he promised as he took the lunge rope and headed out of the stable. “This is not a good idea nick” she told him. He didn’t care and continued on out of the ranch yard and up the hill towards the creek.

“Nick where are we going I don’t like not knowing where I am” she sounded scared. “Don’t worry I won’t let anything happen to you” he sounded confident and she had no choice but to trust him. “Did your mum give you my message last night” he asked. “Yes she did and I don’t know what to do with that information now nick I’m even more confused.” She replied. He didn’t say another word for a while until they reached the creek. Dismounting he helped jess down off her horse and as he lifted her down she was held close to his body. He wanted to hold her there and never let her go but he had to stick to the plan. “Wait here” he told her then left her to tie the horses up and unpack a blanket and some food from his saddle bags. “Nick” she questions his whereabouts. “Not much longer” he promised as he spread the blanket out on the grass near the creek. Nick took her hands and guided her to the blanket. “Sit” he told her. Lowering down to the blanket she got comfy and nick pulled her boots off and sat next to her. The sound of the water trickling nearby was relaxing and warmth from the sun made jess feel at ease knowing where she was. The only problem was who she was with, she could hear him doing something but wasn’t sure what until she smelt the food. If he thought a picnic breakfast was going to fix everything then she had news for him.

After eating nick packed away the empty containers and UN eaten food. Jess lay back and relaxed with the sun on her face. “Jess let’s not let a misunderstanding in the past keep us apart we are so good together” he began. “Nick too much has happened I’m not the same woman as I was” she knew this conversation was coming but it didn’t make things easier. “I love you jess nothing else matters” he moved closer to her and she sat up again. “Tell me you don’t love me and I won’t bring this up again” he said and watched as she bit her lower lip. When she didn’t reply he decided to throw caution to the wind and he put his hand on her waist and pulled them closer together and he kissed her deep and hard with all the passion he had pent up inside like this was the last chance he would get. Pulling away jess tried to talk. “Nick this is a bad idea” nick brushed a strand of her hair from her face. “Jess don’t think just feel. I know you love me” he said then he kissed her again. She gave in and slid her hands up his chest and over his shoulders pressing her body tighter to his. Unable to see him she used her hands as her eyes and she felt her way around his body. She savoured how his skin felt under her touch. Her memory filled in the blanks and she found the whole experience very seductive, finding his lips with her fingertips she kissed him softly enjoying the taste of him there. Nick felt her coming back to him even though she could not see her eyes held that spark again. He watched her as she explored his body with her hands and her feather light touch sent sensations of delight through him. His breathing sped up as she moved around his body. When she kissed him softly he thought he would explode, she was being so sensual and teasing him even if she didn’t realise it. Letting out a deep groan of pleasure when her hand skimmed across his crotch outside the denim fabric, Nick let her know just how turned on he was for her.

Wild Horse's part 12

Walking slowly Jane guided her daughter to the stables and to jovi’s stall. The horse stuck his head over the door to get attention. Jess let her hands slide up his muzzle and around to his neck. “Hey boy I’ve missed you so much” she spoke to him. Jack called from the house for Jane so she left jess alone for a few minutes. “I’m so sorry I left you jovi but I’m back now and I’m not going anywhere” she continued talking to him. Jess felt her way along the gate and undid the latch opened the gate to allow her to slip into the stall with her horse. Running her hand along his fur over his back she felt a part of herself she thought she had lost. She accidently stood on his hoof making him move quickly which knocked her off balance and onto the ground. “Ouch” she said out loud when her body connected with the hard ground. “Thanks Jovi I deserved that” she got to her knees and went to get up and that’s when she felt hands on her helping her to her feet. “Thanks” she said thinking it was her mum. “What are you doing in here alone” his deep concerned voice startled her. Nick took her out of the stall and locked it behind them. “I can visit my own horse if I want nick” she told him with a little too much snap in her voice after all he was only looking out for her. He was back close to her now, she could smell him and he did smell good. She flinched when he touched her hair. “You got straw in your hair” his voice was low and husky but very confident. His breath tickled her skin he was so close. Surly he could remove the straw without being that close. His presence still affected her the way he used to. Nick left his hand at the side of her face. “Where is jack” she asked “he is with mum and dad they wanted some time alone with him. He is safe” nick told her before he moved closer still. She let out a sigh knowing their son was safe but before she could say another word she felt his soft purposeful lips press against hers taking control. His hand holding her to him and his touch sending a fire through her. He pulled away leaving her breathing hard. “I never stopped loving you jess. I don’t know why you left but I’m glad your back” he told her and she caught herself and remembered why she had left. “You don’t know, ha yeah right. I saw you with her nick the leggy blonde you had your arms around her as you kissed her. I’m sorry but just because I’m back doesn’t mean I came back for you. I came back because Jackson deserves to have his father in his life” she spat at him. Jane walked into the stables to see them arguing. “Hey what’s going on here” she asked as she rushed to her daughter’s side. “Mum can you take me back home please” jess asked turning away from nick. “Nick bring jack please” she said as she and her mum walked away. Nick stood in silence wondering what she was on about.

“What was that about” Jane asked as they walked. “He kissed me and basically told me he loves me but after everything I can’t trust him” jess told her. “He has never even been with anyone since you left I’m sure he does love you. He even went to his cousins wedding alone” Jane told her daughter. They reached the house and jess went to her room asking her mum to get jack when nick returned as she didn’t want to talk to him.

Cutting their time short with their grandson nick took jack back to his mother, walking through the quiet ranch nick tried to remember that night. He remembered finishing singing and joining his friends at their table, then his cousin and her boyfriend showed up. He hadn’t seen her in a few years. She had good news she was getting married so he congratulated them and bought them a drink. He walked up the steps and onto the porch and knocked on the door. Jane took jack and was about to close the door when he stopped her. It clicked and he finally figured it out. “Jane can you give jess a message. Tell her I didn’t cheat and that woman she saw was my cousin she was telling me that she was getting married so I hugged her” he turned and walked away. He had a plan to get his jess back and he was going to need some help and some sleep.

Wild Horse's part 11

Jess sat listening to her son sleep thinking about the events earlier. This is not how she had imagined the reunion would be like; she had always thought what nick would look like when he saw Jackson for the first time and now she would never know. She would also not have to see the expression on his face when he tried to talk about that night. She lay down on her bed and closed her eyes falling asleep to the thoughts and memories of their past which seemed like another life time ago.

Jackson’s cry woke her up from a dream of sensual pleasure in front of a roaring fire where nick had his hands all over her body. Jackson’s cry grew louder as she broke away from the last hold of the dream. At first the darkness confused her until she remembered her loss of sight. Stumbling towards the sounds of his cry jess navigated her room with ease. Her hands fumbled around the crib till she found him then she checked to see if he needed changing but he smelt fine and was dry which meant he was hungry. Picking him up she made her way to the chair next to the crib. When she sat down she heard a knock on the door. “come in” she called out and her mother walked in. “everything alright jess do you need any help” she offered. “We are fine he just wants fed” she replied as she settled back in to the chair. “Ok dinner will be ready in twenty minutes” Jane said as she turned and left the room.

Sitting down to dinner with her parents jess found it difficult to find and cut her food so her mother offered to cut it up for her. Jackson sat in his bouncy chair between jess and her mother making happy gurgling sounds. Jess felt like a child having her food cut up for her but she knew it was the easier option. In the past year she had lost her wild, free spirited nature and now she didn’t know who she was. After dinner Jane washed up while jess sat on the couch and listened to her father doting on his grandson, her father had gotten down on the soft rug between the couch and the fire and was waving a rattle at Jackson. She heard him as his boots walked across the porch. The knock at the door announced his arrival to them all. Opening the door Jane was not surprised to see nick standing on the other side. He held his hat in his hands and fidgeted with the brim. “Come in nick” Jane stepped back to let him in then returned to the dishes. Nick walked into living area. “Jack” he greeted the man getting to his feet in front of him. “Evening nick” jack said as he walked past him and into the kitchen to give them space. “Jess my mum and dad want to meet Jackson” nick told her and waited for a reply. “That’s fine do you want to take him over to meet them for a while then” she offered. “Yes they would love that would you like to come too I’m sure they would love to see you” he asked. Nick saw a change in her that he did not like, she had lost her spark. He picked up Jackson and smiled at his son. “No that’s alright I’m going to stay here maybe another time tell them I say hello. His coat and bag are by the door” she told him. She looked tired so he didn’t push her. “What time do you want him back” nick asked. “He goes to bed about nine but just bring him back when he falls asleep if you want” she explained. Nick took the bag and coat then left with a niggling feeling in his gut about leaving her. Jess excused herself and headed to her bedroom where she broke down in a flood of tears when she lay on the bed. She saw her future and the time share of their child between them. This is not how it should be. Her mum sat down on the bed next to her startling her as she didn’t hear her follow her. Putting a comforting hand on her daughter back she asked. “What’s wrong, come on it will be good for you to talk about it”. “Mum I’m just upset I always imagined seeing nick and jack together. What if I never get my sight back” jess blurted out. Sitting up she wiped the tears from her eyes and hugged her mum. “Why don’t you go and visit jovi. I’m sure he will be glad your back to see him” Jane told her knowing the bond she once had with her horse. “Come on I will take you over to him” she offered then stood up and helped her daughter to her feet and out of the house.

Wild Horse's part 10

Nick had left before first light to ride up to the boundaries with a few ranch hands to take care of a few fences that had been damaged in the storm a few nights earlier. His mind was not on the job and he made several mistakes but eventually they were done and could return to the ranch. He couldn’t shift the thoughts of jess from his mind and jack hadn’t called to let him know if she was alright or not, which made him worry even more. As the four men rode into the ranch nick saw jack go into the main house with his father. Knowing they would is talking business nick decided to go and see Jane to find out how jess was. Leaving his horse with the others nick headed over to the cabin. The car was gone and the house was quiet when he knocked realising that no one was home he turned and headed back to the stables.

Jess woke to a knocking on the door and got to her feet leaving the blanket on the couch. Stumbling to the door she thought it would be her mother struggling with the shopping and jack. Opening the door jess stepped out onto the porch. “Mum is that you” she called out but got no reply. Taking another step she called out again “mum”. Still no answer.

Nick heard her voice and spun on his heels to see her. She was standing there looking battered and bruised. Walking over to her he gave her a smile but when she wouldn’t look at him he stopped smiling and paused. He was about to speak when he saw her stumble and fall down the three porch steps. Nick rushed over to her and helped her up. “Are you alright” he asked when he knelt down to her. “Nick” she sounded surprised. “I’m fine” she replied as she got to her feet and pushed his helping hand away. She was not ready for this and the panic played havoc with her insides. She had forgotten how good he smelled, now that her sight was gone her other senses were stepping up their game. Once she was upright she realised that she didn’t know which way she was facing and was going to have to ask for his help. “Nick could you help me back inside” she asked and held her hand out for him. “Sure” he took her hand and guided her to the porch steps. She tripped over the first step and nick caught her which caused him to hold her close to him. Putting her hands out to feel her way up the stairs jess pulled away from him. “Jess what’s going on” nick asked confused. “I can’t see nick. I lost my sight in the accident. Now can you please help me inside” she replied. Nick was speechless as he helped her inside and to the couch. Jess sat down glad for the safety of the couch where she knew where she was. Nick paced the floor in front of the fire not sure of what to say.

“Can you please stop doing that your making me dizzy” she asked. “Stop what, I’m not doing anything” he replied. “The pacing back and forth, back and forth” she told him. “How can you see what I’m doing” he asked. “Just because I can’t see doesn’t mean my other senses don’t work” she was getting snippy at him which was not a good thing. He mumbled and sat down next to her and then he noticed she shifted her position as if she was uneasy with him being so close. He resisted the urge to take her in his arms and kiss with all the built up desire he held for her. “Nick we need to talk” she began. “Ok how about we start with why you left without a word” he wasn’t pulling any punches. “Nick I don’t want to get into that. I saw you with that other woman and I’m fine with that now so let’s leave that in the past, we have more important things to talk about” she explained. “What woman” he protested. They didn’t hear Jane pull up outside. “That doesn’t matter nick. When I left there was something I was going to tell you but I freaked out and I didn’t even tell my parents till the other day” she continued trying to find the right words. A bang on the door disrupted them and nick went to open it. Jane stood with her back to him trying to open the door with her elbow. In one arm he could see she held a large bag of shopping and was about to drop it so nick took it from her as she turned and that’s when he saw the baby in her other arm. Backing away from the door to allow Jane room to enter nick couldn’t take his eyes away from the little boy who was the spitting image of him when he was a baby. “Jess are you alright” Jane asked when she saw nick and the shocked look on his face. “I’m fine mum can I have jack” she replied and waited for her son to be handed to her. “Can you give us a minute please mum” jess asked her mum. Jane took the bag of shopping from nick and headed to the kitchen but before she left she spoke to nick. “Don’t you upset her she needs her rest”. Nick sat back down and watched the baby in her arms. “Nick meet your son Jackson” jess introduced him. “My son. I have a son” he was in awe of the beautiful dark haired brown eyed boy before him. “Can I hold him” he asked and she lifted him up for nick to take him. They sat and talked for an hour about Jackson’s birth and his first three months.

Nick stayed until it was time to put Jackson down for his nap. He watched his son sleep for a while before he left to finish his work around the ranch and then tell his parents the news. Nick had tried to get jess to talk about the night she left but she refused and eventually told him to leave so she could rest. He gave up without argument as she looked like she was ready to drop. He longed to hold her in his arms and comfort her. In the few months they had been together she had gotten under his skin in a way that he did not want to lose and holding on to his feelings for her is what had kept him going. Now he knew about his son he was so full of emotions, joy about being a father, love for his son and jess but he was also angry that she left and didn’t tell him. Throwing his anger into his work nick worked himself hard till it was time to quit for the night.

Wild Horse's part 9

Visiting time soon arrived and all three of them sat anxiously waiting. Jess’s friend Sarah walked into the room pushing a buggy and paused when she saw jack and Jane. “Mr and Mrs Granger, it’s great to see you again” Sarah said awkwardly. “It’s ok Sarah I told them everything” jess told her friend. Looking at the baby in front of them Jane began to cry tears of joy. “Oh jess he is beautiful” she crooned “can i…” she started to ask “of course mum” jess replied giving her consent to pick up her grandson for the first time. Sarah excused herself from the family reunion and went down stairs to get a coffee. Jane sat down cuddling baby jack not wanting to put him down. Jess sat talking with her father. “I’m sorry I just left dad but I had to get away” she apologised to him. He gently hugged her. “I understand and now we just want you both to come home where you belong” he told her. “I’m packed and ready to go but apparently my car is a right off” she told him. “Don’t worry about that I will get it all sorted” he sat back down but kept hold of her hand.

That night jack and Jane stayed at Sarah’s with baby jack, they packed all of jess’s things into their jeep ready to take her home as soon as the doctor would allow it.

Trying to drive easy jack worried about his daughters comfort but she never complained. She sat in her own darkness next to her child worrying about how to tell nick. She had no problems letting him into their son’s life but that also meant letting him in to her life, and right now she felt vulnerable and her defences would be on red alert.

It was night when they arrived back home and all was quiet on the ranch as they went inside. Jane carried baby jack while jess was helped inside by her father. Once he got her to her room he went back out to the car and brought in all of the bags and set up the crib for jack to sleep in but the rest would wait till morning. It took jess a while to fall asleep knowing jack was so close. She didn’t really mind as long as he didn’t take things out on their son. He deserved so much better.

Waking up to the early morning sounds of the ranch jess fumbled her way to check on jack then when she found him sleeping she made her way to the bathroom. Crashing into a side table she caught the attention of her mother in the kitchen. “Jess are you alright” Jane asked when she saw her daughter getting up off the floor. “Yeah I’m fine. It’s just going to take a while to get the hang of this” she replied. Jane took her arm and escorted her to the bathroom then helped her to get dressed. Once jack was awake fed and changed jess sat down to breakfast. “Is dad already out working” she asked. “Yes we got a mother and foal the other day so he will be busy with them most of the day” Jane told her as she set a plate of bacon and eggs in front of jess. “I only filled your coffee half way I hope that’s alright” she said as she went to the fridge. “That’s fine mum. Thanks” jess replied. “Oh” Jane said out loud. “I need to go into town for a few things” she told her daughter. “It’s ok mum go I will be fine. Why don’t you take jack with you and I can rest” jess told her knowing her mum would only worry about them both and also worried about being alone with her son in case she messed up. “Are you sure” Jane asked. “Yes mum it will be good for you to spend some quality granny time with him” jess explained. Jane went over to where jack lay in his cradle “what do you jack do you want to come with grandma” she cooed to him, making jess smile. “Mum can you get me some snack food and more diapers please” jess added. “Sure not a problem” Jane replied as she picked up her grandson.

Wild Horse's part 8

Over the past year nick asked every day about jess but all he got was she was fine and didn’t want to talk with him. He didn’t understand what went wrong, he had been at the bar waiting for her and she had never shown up/ when he returned home he discovered she had left without a word or a note and her parents were angry at him but wouldn’t explain. Since she had left he threw himself in to work and found he didn’t have it in him to sing at the bar any more so he packed up his guitar and gave up.

Nick was clearing out one of the stalls ready to house the mother and foal his father had just bought. Jess’s father was seeing to jovi, he spent a lot of time with that horse it was his way of being close to his daughter. It was clear he missed her as much as nick did. “Jack” Jane called out in a panic as she rushed into the stables. “Jack, where are you” she called to her husband again. He stuck his head out of the stable doorway. “I’m here what’s wrong” he asked and stepped out to meet her. “It’s jess. She’s had an accident we need to go see her” her voice cracked as she explained. Jack closed the stall door and hugged his wife. “Nick can you sort everything with your father, we have to leave” he said to nick who was frozen to the spot by the news. “Sure. Let me know how she is and if there is anything I can do” before he had even responded jack and Jane were already leaving.

Arriving at the hospital they didn’t know what they would find, all they knew was that jess had been hit by a drunk driver and was in hospital. Asking a nurse where their daughter was they hurried to her room. Laying asleep jess was covered in bruises and had a bandage around her head to cover a wound on the side of her forehead. Jack and Jane crept into the room trying not to wake her. Jane couldn’t help the tears from falling down her cheeks when she saw her daughter. A gentle knock on the door didn’t wake jess up; a doctor walked in and asked them to step outside. “Mr and Mrs Granger. I’m doctor Saltzman and I’ve been caring for Jessica” he introduced himself. “Jess, she likes to be called jess” Jane told him and he smiled at her. “She was hit by a car on her driver’s side and has a cracked rib, cuts and bruises. We are not concerned with those injuries” he explained. “However she did sustain a nasty knock to her head which has caused some swelling resulting in blindness” he waited for their reaction. “Now we won’t know any more till the swelling goes down” he added. “Will she get her sight back or is it permanent” Jane asked. “We are not sure. In most cases once the swelling goes down the sight is restored but it is too early to tell we will know more in a day or two” he told them. “ when can we take her home” Jane asked “ we would like to keep her at least another night but all going well you can take her home the day after tomorrow” he stopped as his name was called over the tanoy then made his apologies and left them alone to return to their daughter.

Jack went to get them a coffee while they waited leaving Jane alone with jess. Sitting by the bed Jane watched her daughter longing to hug her. Jess stirred and her eye lids blinked open. “Jess. Hi honey its mum” Jane said in a hushed tone. “Mum” jess’s voice was rough as she tried to sit up wincing at the pain. Jane couldn’t help herself and hugged jess trying to be gentle but still caused her pain. She then helped her to get comfortable. “I’m glad you are here mum is dad here too” the tears built up in her eyes. “He won’t be long he just went to get coffee” she replied. “I can’t see” jess told her mum “I know the doctor told us everything. Don’t worry we are here now” her mum told her trying to comfort her. “I’m sorry mum” she cried “you have nothing to be sorry about it was an accident” replied Jane. “No mum not about that I’ve been keeping something from you. I was planning on coming home and telling you everything then I got hit by that car on my way back from the market” jess continued as her father entered the room. “Jess it’s good to see you. How are you feeling” he asked as he put the two cups of coffee on the table. “Dad it’s good to hear your voice”

Jane interrupted them “what is it that you have kept from us jess your starting to really worry me now” she wanted to know. Jess took a deep breath which hurt her ribs and blurted it all out. “You have a grandson. I was pregnant when I left and I didn’t know how to tell you” the room was silent as they took in the news. “Where is he” Jane asked “Sarah has him she is bringing him in at visiting time. His name is Jackson, jack for short. Jack after you dad and Jackson after your maiden name mum” jess told them. 2 and the father is nick isn’t it” Jane asked while jack seemed to still be stunned. “Yes. I found out that day and I went to tell him but then I saw him with that woman I couldn’t I just had to get out of there and think” jess explained. “I want jack to have his father in his life even if we are not together and I want him to have his grandparents in his life so we were coming home we are all packed and everything” she continued. “How old is he” jack asked. “He is three months old. I’m so sorry I didn’t tell you. I didn’t know what to do and I wasn’t ready for nick to know” she added. Jess pulled the covers off her and started to get out of bed. “You ok do you need any help” her mother offered. “I’m fine just need to go to the bathroom. I know the way they showed me earlier” she replied as she got her balance and stepped slowly towards the bathroom door, her hands out in front of her feeling the way. Jane stood up and went to her husband for comfort and he hugged her tight. “We have a grandson” he said in a whisper. Jane looked up at him and smiled. The toilet flushed and they heard the water run in the sink. It all went quiet then they heard a bang against the door followed by “Ouch” from jess. She had walked into the door forgetting to put her hands out in front of her.
